2004: Charity of the Year - Pentagon Memorial Fund

It is so important to be thankful for what each of us have, we are able to see our lives in our scrapbooks. From day one Get Croppin' has incorporated the community into our thoughts. In 2004, Get Croppin' sponsored an annual charity crop as a way to give back to the community. Our first Charity Crop took place on Saturday, September 11, 2004 at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, Virginia. This event marked the third anniversary of the attacks of 9/11. Get Croppin' along with 135 scrapbookers, 12 vendors and 25 scrapbooking manufacturers from around the country helped raise $2,300 for the Pentagon Memorial Fund. We were thrilled to have the representatives from the Pentagon attend the event and express their thanks to our attendees. We were excited to find out our crop made its way onto the local news. On October 29, 2004 Ashlie and Marirosa had the honor of presenting the official check donation to the Pentagon Memorial Fund on behalf of all those that helped raise this money. Thank you to all that participated and make this event a huge success.

Throughout our 2003 / 2004 events, we also gathered charitable donations from our attendees for the Picture ME Foundation. The Picture ME Foundation is dedicated to helping children with disabilities and serious illnesses through the use of photography and therapeutic scrapbooking.

2005: Charity of the Year - Make a Wish Foundation

Goal: $500 monetary, plus 30 layouts to complete 2 scrapbooks

Amount Raised: 155 - 12x12 Layouts, plus monetary contributions

What a wonderful crop! With all thats going on in the world (Katrina Hurricane) it was great to escape for a must needed worth cause like the Mid-Atlantic Make-a-Wish Foundation. This crop was held at the Dulles Expo Center on September 10 - 11, 2005. Scrappers attending the crop were asked to bring (or work on) a page layout to be donated into one of two would-be donated scrapbooks. The two themes chosen by the Make A Wish Foundation were Disney and Hawaii inspired layouts, due to there overwhelming population as wishes. We were overjoyed to learn that by the end of the two day event, we had collected over 155 layouts and are now about to complete 5 scrapbooks for the children to record their memories. What a treasured gift to present to the families.
Along with the help of the 9 vendors present at the crop, we held a raffle for 5 baskets valued at over $200 a piece which allowed for us to make a monetary contribution as well as the scrapbooks! Thanks to everyone who help us raise this money and who completed pages!

2006: The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation

Goal: $1000, plus 50 Cards

Amount Raised: $1800, plus over 250 handmade cards

Our 2006 Charity will be the The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Not only did we exceed the $1000 raised, with an actual amount of $1800 but we had over 250 hand made cards donated. These card will be put to good use by the Virginia Breast Cancer offices, as thank yous for donation money to the foundation! Way to go girls!

2007: American Heart Association

Goal: $1000, plus 50 Plush Animals or Pillows

Our 2007 Charity will be the American Heart Association.
