In this class you will spend 3 hours creating a unique 6x6 mini album that will feature the things that you love in your life. You'll learn how to play with Hambly Screen Prints Overlays, and explore the usage of Purple Onion Stamps. This class will teach you how to think outside of the page protector, experiment with layers and show you how to make the most out of ALL your supplies. You will walk away with a one of a kind album full of new techniques and ideas to use in your future Minibooks endeavors.

| Class: Today is the Greatest

Class Description: Here's a reason to document a great day before February: in this class, we'll make four 12x12 layouts. One layout will highlight your thoughts on the day, and the other three will highlight the perspective and thoughts focusing on the same day. This is a great way to capture other peoples thoughts and images. Before class, choose a day (past or present) to record with your friends or family. Hand everyone a journaling sheet, passing the camera around all day (or get others photos from that day) so you catch everyone's perspective. There's no limit to how many people you can have in your group, so don't worry if you have a big family or a busy day with a zillion friends -- it will be easy to make additional pages for the project at home, so you could make an entire album from the day. For our four pages, we'll play with interactive page elements, multi-photo design, stamps and happy colors. Think a special event or birthday, or even just a plain old everyday .. event or non-event, all good!
Skill level: Intermediate. This is my practical class -- stuff you'll use over and over again on your scrapbook pages to help you tell stories and document your life.

| Class: Paper Patchwork
Instructor: Shimelle Laine

Class Description: If you're looking for something different, this project is it: using four to eight of your photos, a stack of new and vintage papers from books, wallpaper and giftwrap collections, we will make a paper quilt to display on your wall. Each square of the patchwork will have your unique artwork, as we employ techniques using gesso, paint, stencils, spray dyes, stamps and beads before stuffing and stitching the quilt together into its final form. Every kit is unique, with bits and pieces from London's Portobello Road and the markets of Paris. We'll spend the first few minutes of class making sure everyone has a colour scheme that makes them happy. The fishished size is 12"x15". It's made to fit easily framed, or displayed without a frame.
Student homework: Select and print 8 to 10 4x6 photos on white cardstock (cause you can't add them later)! That's all!
Skill level: Advanced. Should have some basic experience with hand stitching -- if you can thread a needle and sew on a button, you'll be fine!

You will learn tips on how to better sort through one year’s worth of photos, to compile, document and capture the story of you and/or your family as well as gain the confidence to crop the photos you have to better tell your story at a glance. Class Description: Have you noticed all the fun, people have been having with felt on their scrapbook pages and projects? More and more companies are coming out with FELT, but know one knows how to use it. Well…I say, why not take it one step further? Come learn a dangerously fun technique called Needle Felting that can be applied to your layouts and scrap-crafting in a plethora of different way ... the sky is the limit! We'll take felt balls and turn them into expensive embellishments that will make anyone ask, "how much did that cost." This two hour TECHNIQUE based class, is perfect for the crafter looking to LEARN, we will be spending the time learning HOW to do it, how to use the tools, and how to make the items pictured plus incorporate them on 2 12x12 layouts and cards. Tia will teach this class using a powerpoint presentation with tons of visual ideas and direction, plus lots of resources will be given for those that want to explore this more on their own after taking the class! In class, you will make a soft, 3-D heart shaped pendant, that we will convert into a charm/pendant; A handful of completely original, handmade floral & leaf pieces for embellishing their papercrafts; A whispy, textural butterfly embellishment. Plus you will complete 2 12 x12 incorporating and learning how to add this new diminsion on your pages. In class, you will also learn ways to adhere, plus create a beautiful felt based card. Patterns for all of these will be included. You will also get a lot of other ideas and direction as to how to incorporate this technique into your scrapbooks! and a private online step-by-step gallery to access for up to 6 months after the class is over!

Class Description: Onions have layers. Cakes have layers. Some even say that People have layers. Well, Russian Dolls have layers, too! Celebrate the many ways you love someone near and dear to you by layering all those reasons into a scrapbook version of a Matryoshka (Russian Doll). It will be an album they will surely cherish as, layer by layer, they uncover the many reasons why they are special to you. This class is all about TEXTURE! It's Tia's favorite part of papercrafting, and even governs the way she organizes and creates. In class you'll create seven layers of your 8" russian doll which will be covered and treated with a different kind of textural element. Some sewing will be involved, and students will need about 5-8 wallet sized photos for their pages. We combine funk, kitsch, and beauty with gorgeous new Foofala and Rhonna Farrer patterned papers combine with lace, fabrics, and ribbons to build a mini-book! As a special bonus, each student will also receive a handmade crochet flower with a vintage pearl center for the fronts of their dolls, created especially for them, by Tia!

Class Description: Talk about a class with some originally, Fits to a Tee! What a great gift to someone special, and create Wall Art out something you can't let go and will never throw away! Tia will guide you through mounting a favorite tshirt on canvas and adding embellishments to make it truly an original piece of art! You know you have them. Don’t hide it. They’re in there….stashed…..hiding. Old tee shirts. Those certain ones that were too special to become an art smock and too important to the story of your life to throw away. Well, in the spirit of green scrapping, we will attempt to re-purpose those old threadbare tees into a cool covered canvas. Not only that, but we’ll make a little mini-book to tuck back behind the piece (or propped on a shelf below it!) explaining what this tee shirt means to you (or someone else) and your/their life story. In this two hour class with Tia, you'll learn to "canvas" something special with canvas sizes varing slightly (approx 12x12 or 11x14) and are stretched and mounted on wood frames. This can be be hung on the wall or propped on a shelf, and would make a great gift for someone special or just for you! All class members will receive a full set of brand-new Autumn Leaves acrylic stamps "For The Record 2" with their canvas and supplies for the accompanying mini-book. In class, you will make the mini book from scratch with a stitched binding. Tia will be presenting a lecture and powerpoint presentation talking about the idea of "green scrapping" , and how to repurpose materials and supplies in creative, useful ways. This would make a perfect graduation or Fathers Day gift, just picture there face when they realise that someone stuffed in a dresser, can now come out and tell a story!
